Works in CXG Linux 9.1.0, but installation is a pain.

I recommend to save the game often. Sometimes the audio just vanishes, and it's such an important part of this game; it's nice to be able to shut the game down and restart without much loss of progress.

I had more problems but I was able to solve them. I found the answers I needed in the Sticky posts in
Glottis's Garage, the Grim Fandango Tech Help forum. Especially the one about running the game under XP.

The key, it seems, is to find the 1.01 patch in zip form (instead of the official exe), and just copy the files over by yourself.
