There must of been a lot of changes. It works perfectly via the Steam version.
The sound uses the DSOUND Software mode, no hardware modes, but other than that it's all in perfect stereo, fluid graphics, and no bugs.

I'm going to have to agree and disagree with you here. GTA:VC works great on CX Games, not quite perfect though. The only major bug I've noticed so far is at random points in traveling though the city, or even in cut scenes, character and building models will become majorly out of whack with long, jutting polygons going all over the place. I can easily fix the bug by hitting escape to get into the menu, and then hitting it again to get back into the game. Other than that, everything seems to run pretty good. I'll try and get a screenshot of the crazy polygon effect and post it in this thread. I'm running the Steam version of GTA:VC on the Mac version of Crossover Games 7.0.
So far I am running Crossover Games Version 7.1 (7.1.0) with the Steam client 24/07/08. Prior to this version, GTA Vice City ran pretty well with minimal screen corruption i.e. characters becoming jagged blobs and corruption occuring from the centre of the screen. Since running the last build of the Steam client, the corruption has become a lot worse however I will continue to test and see what happens from there. Prior to this, Vice City ran smoothly with good playablility, good sound and responsive controls on;
Apple Macbook Pro Intel Core Duo 2.16ghz (MBP11.0055.B08)
2Gb ram
120gb 7200rpm hard drive
ATI 256mb X1600
Mac OS X 10.5.4
Quicktime 7.5

Hmmm...
I can't get Grand Theft Auto 3 or Grand Theft Auto: Vicy City to boot on my MacBook Pro with Crossover Games 7.1.1.
These are both Steam version of the game.
When I boot the game, I only get a white screen, and nothing after that. The game just freezes there at full screen.
Did you guys do anything special to make it work? Any tips?
When you start the game and you get the white screen just press enter or escape key.
That white screen means that the game is playing the intro movie wich you can't see.
