Grand Theft Auto V Forum

I installed the trial Crossover & bought GTA V on sale via Steam. Initially it got hung on the social club launcher (repeatedly failing), so I followed the earlier thread's directions (regedit, new string, 20000 value, etc.). but now the launcher seems to pass that point, but only a widescreen, rectangular black box pops up afterward. no sound, no game, nothing. steam says i've played the game for 16 minutes now, but that's only been the time registered of black screen.

I'm on a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro. Running Steam through Crossover. Successfully purchased GTA V via Steam while in Crossover. But I can't get it to start.

Please help. I'd love to be able to play these PC games on my Mac, but I'm getting frustrated. Probably just missing something basic, since no one else is reporting my problem.

Solution found by internet search & reading comments elsewhere. Had to turn on DXVK in the bottle. Now it works.
