Keeps failing to launch Rockstar Games Launcher

When launching GTA V via steam, the Rockstar Games Launcher stuck at the loading page since yesterday,
image
then keeps failing to start the service, saying "failed to connect to rockstar games library service", showed as follow,

and the launcher.log saying

I assure the "DXVK backend for D3D11" is installed and checked, even tried replacing them. Tried installing the Rockstar Launcher in a separate bottle(both win7 and win10), tried manually installing the social club, even tried running the launcher with "-udpforce -allosarches -cef-force-32bit" option, and every possible solution I can find from google, none of them helped, and I once entered the Rockstar Games Launcher successfully two days ago when I just installed the game, and every other games in steam launches perfectly, and I can launch the Rockstar launcher on win11 through Parallels Desktop, and the firewall and the iCloud Private Relay is disabled.
Ps. found a recent thread from reddit, it shows that some other people are having the same problem, so maybe it's Rockstar updated something that caused this problem, don't know if that helps.

Hi there,

Yes, it appears a Rockstar Games Launcher update is to blame :/ We have a bug filed and will investigate ASAP.

Best,
Meredith

Thanks for applying so immediately, I thought I broke something in my system, bothered me all day, happy know that it's not XD.
Hope it gets fixed smoothly, looking forward to it, and thanks for making such an amazing software.
We'd love an announcement when it gets fixed.
ps. quote Linus "Rockstar, F**k you!"

Best wishes and good luck.
Zack

For sure, we will definitely update folks once we have good news!

Best,
Meredith

Me either, so do you have some solutions? Or just wait for the brand new version?

Boy am I relieved!
I was halfway through this amazing game, and was starting to second guess myself, whether I installed something wrong that interfered with CrossOver/GTA V. Thank you guys for investigating! Yall are amazing!

I did everything I could, but this is beyond my capability, so I choose to wait for an update.

Same experience here.

me too, same error... I'm waiting the crossover update too...
have a nice day

I'm having the same issues too... lots of people on reddit have shared that they're experiencing this issue as well so really hoping it can be fixed asap!

Thanks @zackbrave for bringing the report over here (I've been posting on Reddit, which probably has a larger audience but is definitely less-usefully targetted). And @Meredith Johnson for responding so quickly!

The initial post covered most of what I've seen, but I did manage to capture a log from one level further down by running RockstarService.exe directly. It seems to fail in a number of different ways during its multiple attempts to launch the service. And it's far more than 4 attempts, closer to 24 over the course of 10 minutes.

I'll paste a representative attempt here, and put the whole thing into Pastebin

Hi folks,

We are currently hard at work on a proper fix that will be included in our CrossOver 21.2 release later this spring, and will be available in nightly builds to our BetterTesters even sooner. A little more background: it appears that a recent Rockstar Games Launcher update is causing these problems on M1 Macs only (Linux and Intel Macs seem to be unaffected). Our testing also indicates that if you're using the standalone Rockstar Games Launcher, simply trying to launch again after a failed launch will often work. If you installed through Steam, the errors appear on every launch.

While waiting for a proper fix, I do have a workaround to share with you that worked well in my testing. To implement the workaround, double click "Run Command" in the bottle you have Rockstar Games Launcher installed into and enter "regedit" in the command field to launch the Registry Editor. Add a new string called ServicesPipeTimeout under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control and set it to 20000. If you'd like to review a screenshot of the needed configuration, one is available here (password is gtav): https://www.codeweavers.com/xfer/Meredith/share/regedit-for-rockstar.png

A fix is one of our top priorities right now, but I hope this workaround helps in the meantime :)

Best,
Meredith

Thank you so much. Your solution worked on my M1 2020 Macbook Pro. (Crossover 21.1 and Monterey 12.1)

Thank you for getting back to us so quickly! Now I am able to launch the launcher, but going into Heroic and launching GTAV gives me an error message stating: "There is no windows program configured to open this type of file" and "Unable to launch game, please verify your game data".

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot, that worked with the steam bottle, at first it says couldn't find the social club app, manually installing it (social club) with the installer included with GTA V solved the problem.

Best, and good luck with fixing it.

This feels like a separate issue. Were you using Heroic successfully before the Rockstar update? It's also possible that there's a new bug in a newer Heroic version, so you can always try an older Heroic release.

Oh ok, yeah before the Rockstar update everything was running relatively smoothly :( I can try a few different versions out but I'm pretty sure that I'm still using the same version that it was working on before. Is this something I should just wait out, or is it the kind of thing you think reaching out to Codeweavers support is better for?

The first thing our support team would ask you to do is to try a fresh install of Heroic into a new bottle (with the workaround applied, of course). We don't routinely test every new Heroic version, but we tested and confirmed 1.10.3 works well. If that doesn't help then, yes, submitting a ticket to our support team is the best route forward.

Hi again. I can not see the social club menu in the game after the solution. I'm pressing the home button, and map is disappearing but the social club menu doesn't scroll down... Is there any solution for this?

MacBook Pro M1, Steam version.

Did this work previously? In any case, this sounds like a separate issue.

Thank you for getting back quickly. Yes it was working before the update. The game is so bad without the social club menu :(

Heroic 2.0.2 works for me. I haven't updated it since, because I figured new versions may break things, and 2.0.2 did the job just fine (:

The launcher screen is black blank window too before the GTA5 launch. This screenshot could be help.

I appreciate your comment! I just installed 2.0.2 but unfortunately, it still doesn't work... comes back with this error message: https://imgur.com/a/mGsRSoi

anyway, I'll reach out to support soon if things don't change automagically

I have actually seen that warning before. For me, it sometimes appeared in the middle of gameplay, after e.g. 30-90 minutes. I think it came right after Rockstar Games Launcher unexpectedly quit or something similar. The game kept working, however, since RGL seems to be only needed to get it started (at least for offline play).
