Hi all,

bought yesterday the complete pack for 8€ under Steam. The installation works fine but the game itself doesnt start (exception error). Any chance or hint to get the game working?

Nice price =) ...a problem app for us however. The game uses GFW-Live, which
in it's current incantation requires .NET 3.5 ... which isn't yet supported in
crossover/wine. At present, all you can try is an xliveless patch, which will
break online play but enable the game to run (sometimes, YMMV..) See..;

Nope doesn't help. What happened to winecfg? Can't execute it. If I go under 'execute command' and put in winecfg and press start nothing happens, works under native wine? Wanna put the dll in there...

EDIT: my fault. winecfg works. Gonna try some settings...

EDIT: naah, doesn't work. Tried several settings with the xlive.dll and same error. If you launch the gtalauncher with the 'execute command' button first comes the social club, click on offline and the game won't start because you need service packs. If you start the game under vista or seven you get an error that the 'DFA is not working...blabla'... Hope I'll be able to play the game in several years, would be the only reason for me to buy a PS3... I think the game will work more soon on android than under wine -.-'

{sigh} ...yeah, your experience tallies with mine (I have several apps borked by this)
-- I'm starting to think those xliveless patches are only useful for standalone games
releases, not the Steam hoisted versions of same. Last I heard, the additional .NET supports
(which is a lot of what's needed here) were still off into the future :^/
