Working great in linux with CXG 8.x.x/9.0

As of the crossover-games 8.0 release, this title's CD check routine
is now functioning properly. (after upgrading to the official v1.1
patch release. and therefore you must have the 'Play' disc in your
CD/DVD and mounted for the game to start and run. Screen handling
with regards using winecfg to setup Emulated virtual desktop mode, has
also changed a little -- see the tips&tricks for more on this.

Yep. I downgraded to COG 7.2.2 by deleting COG 8.0 and dropping COG 7.2.2 in the Applications folder leaving the bottles and GTA III untouched. When I started COG 7.2.2, GTA III works fine and reads v1.1 on the menu.

I'm using X11 2.4.0 from XQuartz. Could there be a problem there, since I believe compatibility problems with XQuartz has happened before? Although it's strange that the older COG 7.2.2 has no issue with the same newest XQuartz version.

Hmm...ok then, that sounds like you're on the right track...I'd suggest submitting
a ticket on this one, I'm sure they'd like to know about this situation (;

Cheers!

ps: at least you can still play it ;D

Thanks for trying to help. I'll try to submit a ticket when I have time this weekend. And I was very happy I was able to get it working on COG 7.2.2 to take advantage of the long weekend.
