GTAIII - 'stuck' moving forward

I've just installed CrossOver Pro 7.0.1 (thanks, Lame Duck Challenge!) and proceeded to install my CD version of Grand Theft Auto III. Installation goes without a hitch, I can run it using the 'Play' CD, and cutscenes/menus work perfectly. However, when I get in-game, the character is 'stuck' running or moving forward. Editing the controls seems to have no effect on this. Is there a known workaround? The game looks to be perfect except for this problem, which renders it unplayable. Thanks in advance for the help!

Did you try setting your dock to auto-hide? Such keyboard input problems can be related to lost focus on the (fullscreen) window, usually caused by the dock.

If you are running on Linux, disabling Compiz(3D desktop effects) can help with such problems

Thanks for the help. I don't have any desktop effects enabled, and auto-hiding the dock had no effect. I'll mention that when starting the program; the view after the splashscreen goes back to my desktop and I have to Alt-Tab to the GTAIII app. Perhaps this is the cause of the problem; is there a way to fix that?

Also, while I have a thread going, is there a fix for the incomplete rotation of the mouse? It seems to happen in all apps (not just GTAIII), but I don't know how to fix it. Again, thanks for your help!

I'm using CrossOver Games on the new Macbook Pro and I can get the game to install but cannot get the game to launch. It just sits in the dock, nothing happens. I even tried a shortcut to the exe and that didn't work.

Any ideas?
