Well, I installed version 2.4 and managed to get to the menu, bypassing x-trap. To do this you launch ge.exe with "-service'. However, you cannot connect to the servers without patching to 3.0. So in order to launch the patcher you need to also have Crossover installed. In Crososver make a bottle called "Sword Patcher" and install IE7 on it. Make sure flash works as well.
Then go to the custom launcher and browse to your Crossover Games bottle folder, then find ge.exe and launch it. This will launch the patcher and it will patch (though it'll crash each version update, and sicne there's about 10 versions between 2.4 and the latest, it'll crash 10 times). Next close Crossover and go back to Crossover Games. Again launch ge.exe -service, but now the menu won't work due to a oreans.vxd which cannot be fixed in the latest version of CxG. There is an alternative launcher for Sword of the New World on Port Coimbra's website that might work, but I haven't tested it.
