Global Agenda: Free Agent Forum

Hi everyone,

I'm having some troubles getting Global Agenda running in Steam. The install went fine, except for the .NET 3.5 installation, and the DirectX web installer (steps 3 and 4, I believe, of the initial install.) Since the game runs semi-alright without 3.5, I ended the process Steam happily moved on to the next step, but would not install DirectX through it's web installer. (DirectX - Modern is already installed into the bottle, anyway.)

Following instructions from the appropriate WineHQ page, I copied a registry entry from the PreReqs folder to fool Steam into thinking these pre-reqs were successfully installed.

However, now when I click "Play Game" I get the Steam message "Launching Global Agenda" which then disappears and does nothing. No launcher, no splash screens. Occasionally the process HiRezLauncherUI.exe appears in the Process Manager if I run it in the bottle, however it disappears just as quickly.

Any helpful tips on getting the game past this point?

Alright, an update. I managed to get the Launcher to run by installing Mono for Windows into the Global Agenda/Steam bottle. However, I've once again hit a road block. Clicking play on the Launcher results in a "Launching game..." message, then it disappears and nothing happens.

Trying to run the game .exe through the Crossover Run Command results in this error:

Global Agenda Live/Binaries/GlobalAgenda.exe returned 53.
