Trick to making MFH mod work. Also known as DSAlarian mod

If you use the Install Other Software function, then the mod will install well enough, but when you try to run it through the Program manager, it wont work. The tip to making it work is to start it as a task in taskmanager.

Go to Configure > Manage Bottles
Select the bottle MFH was installed into
Select Control Panel > taskmgr
Select File > New Task
Navigate to main folder of FoF(default is c:/Program Files/Frets on Fire/)
Select Frets on Fire.exe
Select Open.

I'll start trying to get the original and the newest FoFiX mod working.
Till then,

I have found that a slight calibration error comes out where the video is ahead of the audio. I'm looking into seeing if its because of the inherent speed of Mac or if there is a audio delay because of Crossover.

Do you mean that the installer creates an entry for FoF in the Programs menu, but selecting that entry doesn't work?

Have you tried the Run Command entry in the Programs menu? Does it work if you launch it from there? If so, you can try saving the command to the Programs menu.

Yes. Both through the Programs menu, as well as the run command.

Unfortunately, FoF is a very buggy program as of current date, and its performance in a native Windows platform is not spectacular. So I didn't have much hope for it. I can share the installer file i used, since it's been taken down and replaced with a FoFiX version. But, when you try using the Programs menu, it just wont start up at all. Even the task manager is spotty, but it's the only thing i've tried that has worked, if a bit inconsistently.

And also, whenever you change the settings, it needs to restart the game, but it wont do that on Xover, so you need to manually start the game over with the task manager again each time settings are applied.

Of course, all this is on my macbook, with 7.2 Xover games mac, so it might be different for me than others with different configs.
