you guys both used to post here..ie; in The Fine Print - Please refrain from the mention of
DRM circumvention, such as 'no-cd patches'...
Read my other thread here -- the direct2drive version uses DRM which doesn't currently work
in crossover/wine ; my guess is the exact same DRM is on the CD/DVD so it's unlikely to
work either (especially on the Mac). The one bonus of the direct2drive version is that one
can get a manual unlock code to activate the game should the DRM fail (the manual code works)...
This all said, the title relies on GamesForWindows - Live. This game support package will
update itself when installed and it detects a newer version of GamesForWindows - Live in
available online. The current GamesForWindows - Live depends on .NET 3.5 (or ,NET 3.5 SP1)
and as such both these runtime dependencies are unsupported at this time in crossover/wine.
I'm afriad even if you did get around the disc_check DRM, this title isn't going to work
anytime soon...at least, not until after .NET 3.5/3.5 SP1 is supported in crossover/wine.
Afaik, that is still months away...
Cheers!
