Yeah, I'm giving this a VERY tentative (and generous) bronze.
After an initial complete failure, installing the updated DirectX 9 Modern package fixed things so the benchmark would not crash.
Not only did benchmark not crash, it worked. ...but SEVERELY sucked! Unless you're running a RECENT model Mac Pro, your computer cannot handle FFXIV.
I'll keep updating, but file this under "proof of concept" or "trial by fire" rather than "useable" for now.
Just a note to this, if you have an ATI video card expect the benchmark to suck horribly. I know people with 4000 series radeon and they can't break 1000 with windows vista and 7. I have a 3870 and bootcamp Windows 7 so I can attest to the fact it runs perfectly fine and is just a benchmark issue.
for the record.. disregard any (and all) statements I have made previously :D I was using the beta and have no intention of purchasing the Windows version (after having used it under windows 7, dual boot). So, anything I've said is already out of date.
I do hope that it will work eventually under CXG. Good luck to you all :D
