I added the WineHQ and and Steam ID numbers to the main page. Those links are working.
The tips have some entries from six years ago. Are they still relevant? Any issues with removing them?

Sure, go ahead and remove any tips that are no longer useful. We appreciate the help with housecleaning!

Was a good idea... I have Pencil (edit) icons available for those, but no Trash (delete?). No biggie.
Removed "A Realm Reborn" from the title. "Final Fantasy XIV Online" is consistent with the SE store and all packaging artwork.
I'll be taking a whack at a CrossTie for 21.x this week/weekend. If I break anything, STOP ME! :D

Right, forgot. In my lack of trust, I don't allow BetterTesters to remove tips. I'm terribly afraid of someone going nuts and just removing tips. Perhaps I should be either more trusting, or I should improve the functionality of that page with some sort of add/edit/delete moderation queue.
For now, use the Contact form on the BetterTester landing page to let us know which tips to delete and a staff member will get on that.

Gotcha. Trusting is dangerous. 😀 A lot can go wrong there. And, although these tips are ancient, there's a remote chance they still work. (I could always Edit them, and replace them with stanzas from Jabberwoky. I won't.)
Apologies in advance for putting you on the spot like this, but... Codeweavers was already involved with getting FFXIV to work under macOS, no? Could someone throw us a bone here? (I'm definitely more end-user than hacker. I'll try anything, but throwing a stream of possible dependencies that don't work in the bottle is getting frustrating)
Hi Harry,
Yes, we work with Square Enix on the FFXIV macOS version. Why exactly are you trying to run the Windows version of FFXIV in CrossOver? And what exact problems are you having? If they are launcher related, I don't know of any workarounds for CrossOver.
Best,
Meredith

Well, I signed up as an advocate for this in 2010. Time passed, I drifted, and TransGaming came up with their attempt for a Mac version. Crash and burn there, Codeweavers took over, and all is right with the world.
As far as why now, I wanted to start playing again on my Mac. ...but didn't want to pay another $60 for the client licenses (I already own Windows ones, cheap bastard!). Since Codeweavers already fixed every possible problem for the new official Mac client, I thought I'd give CX another shot. (Disclosure: I did repurchase Mac licenses)
As far as the problems... it's oddly specific. The launcher itself runs mostly without issue: Internal/External browser work; navigation bar at bottom works; promo carousel works. The Username/Password region in the upper right corner a javascript-related error "system error: -2147467263" whenever I click on a button in the Name/Password section. The reported javascript call may change, but the error number is the same.
edit
WineHQ suggests that this javascript thing is a known issue, and that using the Enter/Return key instead of clicking should work around it. I’ll have to check that later
double edit
Work around seems to work. Now, to let it cook for a few hours and download!
For continuity and ease of reading, I'll follow up with this in the other posting.
