Final Fantasy XIV Online Forum

Hello,

I am currently using Deepin 15.3 with Crossover 15. I have a copy of FFXIV from a Windows on a external HD. I create a bottle for ffxiv and target it back to the ffxivboot.exe file on the HD. I can type in my username and password and click on the Play button but when I do it gives a "Directx9 is needed to play Final Fantasy XIV. Please download the Direct X Runtime and restart the game. --(0)"

I have tried installing the Directx Runtime Web Installer using winetricks, the terminal, and installing it into the ffxiv bottle.

Can anyone please help me out? It would be much appreciated.

Have you tried installing the game just enough that it starts to download the full set of data files? Might want to try that and then copy the existing data into place, or create a symbolic link from the other data to where the data normally goes.
