Installing programs for running this on Mac

I read in the tips and tricks thing the apps needed to run Final Fantasy XI.. I cant find them.. where can they be found at? These are it;
CrossOver HTML engine
Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0
Microsoft DirectX Runtime
Microsoft DirectX Runtime (Download)
Microsoft XML Parser
Core Fonts

In CrossOver's preferences dialog, on the Installer Assistant tab, uncheck "Hide dependencies and service packs". Then, the above packages will be available in the Software Installer window.

Your awesome thanks! I was trying to actually download these files on Mac.. but they wouldnt install when Id run the .exe.. Thanks!

Mmm >< Im running cross over games 7.1.1.. I installed all the above applications but when I try to run Playonline it runs but its just a black screen.. but im getting audio.. what am I doing wrong?

Hello,

I'm not a Mac user, but I'll try to help u. First of all, try to start dxdiag from your "playonline" bottle, and make test 3d test. Are u able to see a rotating cube or still getting a black window?

Not sure if I should have made a new topic on this or not but here it goes:
I installed this following the instructions and everything went well and smooth. I am running into a small problem though, The bottom half of the screen is a black bar. The chat bar will appear over top of the black bar, so I can talk and see text fine. The target self > enter twice gets rid of the lag, but the black bar still is there. The only time the black section goes away is when I put the resolution on 1280 x 1024. I tested other settings and I make sure that the emulated desktop res is the same as FFXI config. Also (kinda a long shot) but was wondering if FFXI windower would eventually work with this.

ok to somewhat answer my own question.. I had to bump down background resolution to 512 x 512. I'm not sure if the 3rd party FFXI windower will make some of this easier or not. I tested out with just a normal install and nothing loads (GUI config or the windower itself). I'll post some screens I have soon. I would not like to sacrifice resolution if I don't have to so if there's some work around for the 1024 x 1024 issue that would be very helpful.

I am having the same problem as zachery with the black screen when i try running playonline and when i try installing ffxi it says that playonline isnt even installed.help please><

theck out this post we can try and keep it as a trouble shooting for all these questions. Explicit instructions are in the OP. http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=22;forum=1;msg=41199 I am also trying to find out the earliest version of FFXI has the "open in windowed mode" mode but my 2007 disk vanished into a black hole called my storage closet :/
