How can I advocate for Fallout as an essential game for Crossover? This game is a classic.

The gog.com version requires Windows 8. I installed successfully on Windows 10, 64-bit. The install will fail on older versions.

The games are recognized successfully. But the launcher will not start, and nor will

Trying to run the app from the icon in the Bottle area produces this error:

Unhandled Exception:

Trying to run falloutw.exe or falloutwHR.exe produces this:

Command error text:
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 00000030 at address ED9CFBEF (thread 00bc), starting debugger...

I suppose this error could be fobbed off on GOG, but it seems like this game should be a must-have for Crossover. It's a shame that it doesn't work.

System: Macbook Pro 2019, 8-core Intel i9, Mac OS Ventura 13.6

Hi Brent,

You can get around that error by installing .NET Framework 4.0 into your Fallout bottle.

Best,
Meredith

Can confirm the above fix works. I never ran into the error as I installed it from the get-go.

Fallout works flawlessly now... Well, flawlessly enough. Even on Windows it was always buggy as hell with the random crashes and freezes.

Hello again.

Well, I tried a new Windows 10 64-bit bottle. I installed .Net 4 using the Crossover built-in installer. (That took a very long time.) Then I installed Fallout GOG again. (Which installs its own copy of .Net 4, btw.)

And the same error happened. :-(
