Graphics Glitches

So..the game appears to be running fine on my early 2014 Macbook Pro retina. I've got it downloaded and running via steam. The only issue I seem to be having is that the graphics pop in and out...so one minute Ill be looking at a normal background then the next its all smooth with no textures or definition. I've tried messing with the graphics settings and it didn't make a difference. I also have Skyrim installed but can play that with no issues.

Help Somebody! Never played FNV and have always wanted to. I purchased the Ultimate Edition and not the Original Version so I hope that didn't make a difference. Help!

No helpful advice, but I have this same issue with the version of this game from Steam without all the DLC. I've experimented with various graphics quality settings and replacement DLLs, but none have affected this.

For someone with more wine or Bethesda engine internals knowledge, it appears that surfaces (both in the environment and on characters) will switch between using textures as normal, and just having lighting applied to them.

I believe that you often have the issue with the FALLOUT.INI file. Search for it. If not, then you need to find one. You need to edit the settings in the FALLOUT.INI file to let your computer know that it runs on dual processor as well as notify it that it should run on a certain speed. So go inside the files for Fallout: New Vegas, and if there is a Steam install, then take a look via the folder in the C Drive called "Steamapps", then go inside that folder to edit the INI file with textedit. It will adjust to run on your machine if you make the changes within the FALLOUT.INI file such that the following occur:

If you have 2 or more cores, do the following:
1) Open ~/Documents/My Games/FalloutNV/FALLOUT.INI
2) Find bUseThreadedAI=0 and change it to bUseThreadedAI=1
3) Add iNumHWThreads=2 after bUseThreadedAI=1
4) Save file

Also apply the updated version of the .exe files provided by SKIDROW, version 7 should run efficiently.

I had the same issue. The solution that worked for me was to change the rendering mode to "Bloom" (Options --> Screen Effects --> Bloom.) Seems to be an issue with HDR / DirectX.

I had this problem but then I ended up trying it with the porting kit after success with fallout 3. NV has no bugs/issues that I have noticed so far, so try it with the porting kit?
