everything working but it is saying there is a compatibility error

I've reinstalled everything with the updated 'ntdll.dll.so' and now directx is installing fine, but I still get an error when trying to play the game. Any thoughts?

For clarification this is fallout new vegas: ultimate edition

Hi Sean,

I had the same issue yesterday after about 1/2 hour of gameplay. From what I'm told, this happens on windows too, so it's probably just Fallout NV. Are you able to play the game at all? I'm using the steam version.

Hi, thank you for the response. I am running on the new macbook pro. The first problem I had was that DriectX would not install. I fixed that via this link:

http://www.codeweavers.com/support/tickets/browse/?ticket_id=897883

Now everything installs correctly and seems to work, except as soon as I hit play the screen turns white and I get that error message. I tried reinstalling everything, including crossover. All this is taking place in the steam client.

Hmm interesting, I too am running the new macbook pro. Must have got it after they fixed up that issue with the processors.

I'll make a fresh install into a new bottle and see if I come up against the same issue.

well I'm not sure if I've had more or less success than you - when I click play on the fallout launcher it comes up with this error

http://imgur.com/cSfFY

this happened on my previous install too, but I just fiddled around with the options a bit and it went away. this one seems to be a bit more persistent. Given that I've got 16G ram and 4G free, I think it's fair to say I do have enough memory.

OH I just worked out what the problem is - FNV being a 32 bit game can only use 4GB of ram, so there must be something preventing it from accessing the free parts of the ram.

So I restarted my computer and tried again - bingo, FNV, fresh install works for me.

so all I can suggest is to try restarting your computer and running fallout right away before other apps have a chance to gobble up all your ram.

I never through having 16G would be a bad thing!
