M2 macOS mouse look with trackpad

I was trying to boot this up just to test a few mods I'm working on (I like using macOS for mod development while having a dedicated Linux desktop PC for playing games) and the mouse look was a mess. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if they have any idea how to do something about it.

I'm using the GOG version of Fallout 4 through the Heroic launcher. Latest version of Crossover (24.0.1) and latest macOS (14.4.1).

I haven't extensively tested Windows games on macOS lately, but I've similarly run New Vegas in the past using a trackpad to test mods with no issue. I was having similar weirdness with the display port in the Creation Kit when I tried to use my mouse to navigate. I will try some other applications here shortly and report back to see if this appears to be a Fallout 4 issue or something more. I'll also see if I can find another mouse.

There's two sources of mouse cursor movement in Fallout 4. The first one is handled by going into the preference text files ".ini" for the game. Look for the neccessary document known as "Fallout.ini" in the following directoryDocuments/My Games/Fallout 4/Fallout.ini

Now opening the Fallout.ini with a text document application (I use textedit) Go into the file and go to the heading [Controls] and add the phrase "bBackgroundMouse=1" (Without Quotes). This sets the mouse cursor to move within the game fullscreen. Also do another line added to prevent most game crashes. Go into the same "Fallout.ini" file under the heading of [General] and add the line "bDisableAllGore=1" (Without Quotes). Processing the gore in the game sometimes causes crashes.

The other issue is that it could be a general issue with Crossover itself. If Crossover itself is the source, similar mouse cursor limitations will manifest in other Apps within Crossover. If this is the case, you will need to restart your computer.

Then go to System Settings, where you will take a look at taking control of your computer away from Crossover. This is because there is a conflict between Crossover having control over your mouse and keyboard and the Application within Crossover having control over your computer inputs. So going into System Settings/Security and Privacy/Accessibility gets you to the input shutoff.

Now with a list of Applications with access to your computer inputs, click Crossover to turn off the input access from Crossover, so that the applications have access and not Crossover.

Hopefully one of these two methods work.

I got it fixed, although I'm not 100% sure how.

CrossOver didn't have any accessibility enabled. I added that to the ini, but it was being less responsive until I rebooted and now it works. Maybe it was some holdover from the old version of CrossOver. I'm not sure I rebooted since I installed it a day or two ago. Anyways, strangeness, but it is working now.

The bug is due to the mouse and the display within the game not lining up. Glad you got it working more smoothly
