Get the GOG Version

Fallout 4 is now DRM free on GOG and it works very well under Crossover 23.6. Create a new Windows 10 bottle and install the core fonts, MSXML3, the Visual Runtime setup, and DirectX for modern games. You still need to add the tweaks from AppleGamingWiki for the mouse and sound to get it up and running. Also, use BethINI to configure the graphics settings. You need to make sure godrays and ocular occlusion are turned off. I'm running it with D3DMetal enabled. It works really well. Not quite to five stars, but I'd rate it 4 stars. None of the quirks with the Steam version are present for the GOG version and sound works great.

BTW, I'm on a MacBook Pro M1 PRO with 16gb of RAM. I'd love to see this run on the Max chip with more memory.

Agree with you on the GOG version. But I already had the Steam version. :(
Anyways. I just tried on on 23.7 beta on my M2 Max, 64GB RAM, 38 cores GPU.
Uploaded it here on YouTube.

Runs like a charm!

Hmmm I'm running into quite a few issues with FO4 on steam. Same specs as OP but running into multiple crashes and mouse stuttering. Cannot run in full screen either, Insta crash.
Not so much the audio issues, that fixed itself.

What does your bottle set up look like for the steam version?
Will Try Brians set up and see if that helps.

Cheers.

So far the graphics are pretty grainy in the GOG.com version. Pretty sure its an issue of libraries missing during installation.
This is after the Update to Version 24

Unfortunately I have been unable to run in fullscreen, and am unable to progress past a certain point early in the game due to consistent freezing/crashing when using Power Armor; this is with the Steam version

This is what is known as the Bethesda Audio Override. I have this video here on YouTube on how to do it on Crossover. The major problem that causes numerous graphics and audio issues in Bethesda games for both Elder Scrolls and Fallout is that several library files do not install during the Direct X Installation from GOG.com. This same technique involves the Steam Bottle if you are trying to run Bethesda Games through Steam on Crossover.

The trick is to go into the wine configuration settings of either Steam (If you are playing in Steam) or the Game Bottle in Crossover
(GOG.com version)

Now when you get into wine configuration, open the libraries tab and copy/paste the following libraries into the libraries of the Steam or Fallout game bottle.
