You want to play Fallout 3? well here is a write up about my experience.
I installed Visual C++ Redistributable, I am not certain this is needed, but was recommended in some modding guides, so if you plan to mod, download it, https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/ , pretty easy, just download it, then run the .bat in your bottle
also manually install https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 , which gives you access to Direct 9, simply run the .exe in yourbottle, and it should install.
This Direct 9 installation will get the game to boot up, but, my game was not running well. Vanilla, without mods, I was getting a laggy mess, for a moment I would get smooth fps, maybe 60, but within seconds, it would lag, or bring me down to almost nothing..
With a pretty tight modlist, that features many performance boosting mods, remove unneeded clutter, and engine fixes, it ran even worse.
This was also attempted with the audio overdrive fix featured in other articles on here, made no differences, game was still a mess.
(This was done on a M1 Max, with 32gb)
