Which Advanced Settings to use on MacOS?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend which advanced settings to use on a MacBook M3 Pro running Sonoma 14.3.1?
Currently I have turned on DXVK.

What about the other settings?

Thanks!

Shouldn't need any now if you used the crosstie to install

I just installed crossover on my M3 Mac and installed EQ letting Crossover download the installer.
If I leave DXVK toggled on, it won't load into character select from Server Select. It gives me an all white screen and then an all black screen.
If I turn on D3D metal, it will allow me into game, but its just particle effects and nameplates.
Is this still a DX11 shader issue or is this something I can fix with the right options? The other mention of this that I saw was in a thread a few months back with no resolution.
I don't want to risk getting banned by playing in Parallels. I'd rather support Crossover if I can get this to work.

I'm also curious - EQ worked almost perfectly for me (weapons textures weren't loading for many of the older weapons/shields, so they showed as just white shapes) until ~ 30 Mar 24. I'm seeing the same problem: no settings I select will make the char select screen work well.

Help appreciated.

Thanks!

Same issue. I was using Crossover 22 and the game stopped working for me today. This was the first time I've tried in a few weeks. Instead of character select, I get a black screen. I tried upgrading to the 24 trial, but that didn't help. As the above person, I enabled D3Dmetal, which allows me to see the character select screen, but upon logging in, I see nothing except for nameplates.

When I tried starting I got the error: Fatal error: the game can't run on any GPU that your system has (0) because they don't support DirectX Feature Level 11_0

I was able to get rid of the error by toggling the DXVK option, but that only took me so far.

The only thing that's changed since I was last able to play is the fact there was a MacOS upgrade from Sonoma 14.3.1 to Sonoma 14.4.1

Also not sure if I can downgrade back to 22 that I've paid for now that I've installed the 24 14-day trial. But if the fix comes in 24, so be it, it'll be worth it.

I figured out what's the problem with the character select screen.

Uncheck all Advanced Settings - turn them all off.

This fixed my problem.

I tried turning them back on one at a time, and the character select screen began to bug out. However, the game still have issues and won't play properly.

There's a bug in CrossOver with this game.

Have you tried using using the original models? Do they come out all white for you?

Edit: I started noticing this behavior after upgrading to 14.4.1 but there may have been an EQ patch since I last played also, and someone report having the issue on 14.3, so the MacOS update might not be the issue. I'm running an M1.

I play on an iMac M3 1tb SSD 24gb RAM and play EQ Live (CT and Teek servers) and the old textures are hit and miss loading. Old weapons/shields are white and the kunark goblins (on Teek) are also all white with no textures.

When I first installed CrossOver and installed EQ it installed the bottle with everything off...I thought, that wierd, and turn metal on...buggy...switched to vulcan...buggy...turned everyting off again and it ran fine, but just missing textures in the older zones on Teek. I haven't noticed any missing textures on CT in current xpacs, but I don't run around a lot. I play a solo Necro on CT and just chill and keep to myself.

I don't box, at all, but still like playing in windowed mode. So any issues with full screen don't effect me, but I do know that all players seem to be having that full screen issue, so I doubt it's a CrossOver, or Wine, thing.

I can live with how it plays EQ for me right now. It's not perfect, but missing textures here and there isn't a big deal to me as long as the game runs and performs decent. I imagine that the texture issue will be fixed, magically, with an Wine update down the road.
