High CPU usage on Intel MacBook Pro latest model

Hello,

I am able to run EverQuest on my MBP i9 latest model. It works fine.

However, it seems to be using one or two cores and pegging them at 100%. This causes the fans to kick on high and remain on the entire time the game is running.

I’ve tried other posts suggestions here with no luck. My eqclient.ini has CpuAffinity0 thru 24 set to -1. Task Manager shows when eqgame.exe is running that it can use all cores.

Is there anything else I can do to help with the Max CPU usage and fans going crazy? This can’t be good for the lifespan of the MacBook.

Thanks!

Still having issues with this. Updated to latest CrossOver and made a new bottle for the 64 bit update of EverQuest.

Changed to DXVK mode for the bottle. As soon as I enter the world, the fans on the Mac ramp up to full speed and the MacBook gets very hot to the touch. I am afraid to play it like this, as it is running way too hot for a 23 year old game.

Any suggestions?
