EverQuest under 10.6.1 and CoG 8.0.0

Hello, Let me start off by saying that being able to play PC EQ under Mac is why I bought CoG. Its the only PC thing I do. Onto the game...Loaded CoG 8.0.0 onto mac, did fine (btw the "new" loader loads X11 by default). Made an xp bottle for EQs use, loaded DirectX (Mar09 is recommended by SoE), loaded EQ Trilogy then updated as usual.....all went well. Started the game, the mouse cursor stops working on full screen, it will remain locked in the center but you can still scroll....anyway before hitting "play" change the resolution to something smaller than your screen and your mouse will work past the update window....atm they are updating the servers, I will add more info after the update.

EverCrack FOREVER

David lol

it's been a while but i'm guessing you'll need to run it in windowed mode. i think i remember full screen mode messing things up but good. either way, try this...
find the file "eqclient.ini". when you open it in your text editor you'll eventually find a section called [VideoMode]
i'm not certain what the policy is for advice and editing file but i've been doing it for some time, for several reason. Everquest is fairly friendly when it comes to this kind of stuff.

this is what i have in mine...
[VideoMode]
WindowedWidth=1675
WindowedHeight=950
Width=1280
Height=720
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
FullscreenRefreshRate=0

there's another setting "WindowedMode=TRUE" it seems to have worked for me.

oh, i'm using an iMac running at 1680x1050, hence the resolution i've put entered.

as always... make a copy of the original file as your backup.

hope this helps 😉

p.s. there might be other areas to mode but this should at least get you rolling...

This is also true for linux. Full screen mode doesn't fair too well. I don't own a mac so I don't know how well it runs on mac. But a friend of mine set it up on his mac, he didn't have to install directX seperatly though. CoG includes directX libraries, so I'm not really sure if that step is necessary. I could be wrong though.
