Anyone running EQ2 on Leopard, MacBook Pro?

It seems like some have had some success with the installation and there were some issues with TSO expansion, but I would like to "untether" from my Windows machine and play on my MacBook Pro. It is a late 2008 model with discrete video, so it should play I would think, but I would like to hear from some more recent users before plunking down the cash on CrossOver just for a game. I don't really have a need for any of the other uses, since I already have Office for the Mac, and most of my other software is already Mac based. (My Windows machine is mostly just for gaming.)

Has anyone used the trackpad for gaming? (I can't imagine this would work very well, at least without some adjustment to the settings)
Is it better to buy CrossOver Mac just in case (say using a G-13 input device or a usb stick with portable apps), or would the CrossOver Games be better since that's what I really want to do? (Is the gaming support better?)

I wanted to get some "free advice" I guess from EQ2 players I guess.

Thanks if anyone can help shed some light on my plight. 😉 It seems like a great solution to keep gaming, but the company only gives it a bronze rating.

Hi!

I am trying to get it run to on me late 2008 model. I am running into alot of graphical glitches, i think its safe to say that at the moment the best way is to use bootcamp. EQ2 seems just to complex to let it get run by crossover. If i find anything out i will post it here.

Well thanks, that's not quite the answer I was hoping for. 😭 Maybe I can see what the Wine project has and if that can get EQ2 running. It works great under BootCamp, I just get sick of rebooting, and I don't really want to have the rest of Windows installed. Maybe someone else will have better luck than we have.

i am trying to get it to work with Crossover Games 8.0 now (installing eq2 right now)

i will keep you posted!

OK good news, i just finished installing, patching and resubscribing EQ2 --> it works! I just have to get the graphics set, changing resolution got me a crash of Crossover Games 8 (on Snow Leopard)

ok it works as in logging in, running around, but whenever i fight creatures there seems to be a problem like you have when there is alot of lag. Mobs won't turn to you and seem to be out of range alot. Also there are a few graphical glitches. I will report back when i have more time to test.
