Running version 11.3.0.26287 on an 27" iMac.
I was wondering if there's a way to run the game in full screen, not a window that uses most of the screen (which is what I have now).

It should be possible to play it fullscreen, I do that here, though I'm on Linux.
What happens when you try to make the game fullscreen, does it crash?
If it crashes, then you can try a few things.
First, edit your eq2.ini, make sure cl_screenwidth and cl_screenheight match your resolution, and set cl_fullscreen to 1. Try starting eq2.
If that does not work:
Set CX to have a fullscreen "virtual desktop" window. You do this by going into your bottle manager, selecting your eq2 bottle, then control panel, then wine configuration, graphics, select "emulate a virtual desktop" and make sure the resolution is your screen resolution. Click ok and start eq2.
(instructions may vary slightly for Mac, so you may need to dig a bit, I really don't know much about how the Crossover UI differs accross platforms and don't have a Mac)
Yes, I had that setup already, but the game still doesn't use the entire screen - like it does when booting from Windows.
Setting the screen resolution from the game just crashes the game. However, the only way to really change the game resolution is using EQsettings.exe. The problem is that not all the resolutions are shown there.
As a matter of fact, I've added this to the eq2_recent.ini file:
cl_screenwidth 2560
cl_screenheight 1440
These two lines get deleted when the game starts!
Try setting the resolution manually by editing both eq2.ini and eq2_recent.ini (located within your EverQuest II install directory) and setting the appropriate values for cl_screenwidth and cl_screenheight, without using the configuration tool.
I tried it and same results. Looks like it only happens with EQ2 because I can play Rift just fine in full screen. Weird thing is also that I don't get all possible UI resolutions as I normally get; I'm currently playing at 1947x1187 in window mode.
It seems that the game is either running in windowed full-screen mode, or removing the
Apple menu bar size from your resolution. Sometimes this can be fixed by not allowing the
Window Manager to control the window (Manage Bottles > Control Panel tab > Wine
Configuration > Graphics tab).
Full-screen and windowed mode has always been problematic in OS X. Some games work/switch
modes without a glitch, some do not... even when both games are very similar. For example,
in the beta, Wizard101's window was white after switching from full-screen to windowed mode,
Pirate101 worked like normal.
They have been working on better full-screen/window manager support in CrossOver 12, which
is due out sometime this month. I will check the game out in the beta and see how it runs.
