After installing, I go to the Options and make these changes:
- remove all hotkeys (they interfere with other apps)
- disable all Clipping Options (especially "Show clipping notifications", which breaks DnD for files insertion)
Trying to upgrade sometimes gives the error, “evernote was already installed by another user.”
There's a solution at http://www.mintywind.com/evernote-on-wine-evernote-was-already-installed-by-another-user/
close Evernote
$ grep “with upgrade” ~/.cxoffice/Evernote/drive_c/users/crossover/Temp/EvernoteSetup.log
Located product {EF7E46B8-1FB7-11E2-B6B3-984BE15F174E} with upgrade code {AE2C091E-CF5F-4e30-8659-D640E23A8B99}
Reverse the first 8 digits of the upgrade code ID. E.g. E190C2EA
$ wine regedit
Find entries with E190C2EA.
Export the entries (for safety).
Delete the entries.
I deleted “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Installer>UpgradeCodes E190C2EAF5FC03E468956D042EA3B899″ for example.
Load Evernote
Run the upgrade again
