EVE Online Forum

I am using a macbook with an intel Core 2 Duo processor and OS 10.6.2, which has 2.13 GHz power, and 2 GB of memory at 800MHz. My macbook also has a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M. I downloaded CrossOver Games and EvE Online, and installed EvE. I can get the splash screen, but then I get an alert that there is a "Verification Failure" because there are "extra files", namely "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin.DS_STORE". I tried deleting the file, which just reappeared, and also reinstalling EvE, which didn't work either. I see that EvE Online is Silver supported by CrossOver, but I have never used Wine before, so I may be missing a crucial step. I haven't seen any other mention of this problem, and I was wondering if anyone could help with a solution.

Never mind, just installed Wine using the very helpful OSXWINEBUILDER script, and reinstalled EvE, haven't done much with it yet, but it seems to work fine.

Ben, glad it worked for you! Please let me know if you run into any problems with the script. Glad someone got some use out of it!

Bug reports...

What kind of script are you guys talking about? I'm in the process of installing EVE, so chances are i will run into the same problems. Plz explain in detail.

This is essentially a wrapper around the standard open source Wine distribution to build it from source. It has nothing to do with CrossOver Games, which is a real product with real support. If you're not terminal-savvy, stick with CodeWeavers products.
