Hi Joe,
This is the forum for EVE Online, you should try posting in the relevant game forum next time where people most certainly have faced the same problems you are experiencing and maybe written a solution in the Tips & Tricks section.
That said, if I was to hazard a guess, it sounds like the game can not find the CD which you probably have already inserted. This is a common problem with games and it is caused by the copy protection used in the game. Unfortunately there is no easy fix for this (that I know of) but a way around it is to use a patched "nocd" executable which disables the copy protection. I cannot help you find one, as these files are not concidered legal, so your on your own here.
