Ive previously bought Crossover 6.2 and used it with great effect playing Eve until the offical CCP OSX client was released and then support seemed to die off...
Yesterday I was informed that Crossover games was released and supported Eve, so i downloaded the trial and auto-Installed Eve and it worked beautifully, my question is... do i need to buy Crossover Games or is Eve still supported under Crossover 6.2 or is the license ive already bought transferrable perhaps?
If you had an active support period when we released cxgames yesterday you can unlock the cxgames demo for free. Just use your login credentials for this website in the registration dialog.
CrossOver 6.2 doesn't run Eve any longer since the Trinity update because CrossOver 6.2 does not support IO Completion Ports, which trinity needs for asynchronous disk reads.
Great stuff... All unlocked and running great.
Only thing ive spotted so far is the Character selection screen shows very slightly corrupted pictures (main skin tone missing) which is hardly a problem, once in game everything else renders perfectly(unlock offical OSX client), i seem to be getting much better FPS and a much snappier interface than the CCP OSX Client. Played about 20hours so far using the Crossover Games client and no crashes, lockups or system instability, which is a massive improvement on the OSX client. :) The game even runs well 30fps+ at 3840x1200 across 2x 24" screen. :)
