EVE on Crossover 6.1 (Linux)

Ok so I just bought Crossover, and EVE is installed but it can't connect to the tranquility server. It just stays on "checking status..." forever, and eventually to "status: unknown" And yes, my internet otherwise works fine. Also the first time I started it up EVE promted me to download the update of EVE, and everything went fine, so EVE isn't cut off from the internet completely. Any ideas? Also my mouse on the startup screen seems to be running at like 4fps.

I think the network issue must have something to do with that that computer is currently getting it's internet connection via ethernet cable not to the router but to another computer, which is sharing it's connection to that one. I don't see how that would affect it, since the eve application still connects to the internet in the news section of the login screen and also is able to check for new updates, but I can't think of anything else.

Can anyone help? I bought crossover just for eve and it's not working : (

First of all, for support if something fails entirely its better if you use www.codeweavers.com/support instead of the app forum.

The 4 fps are related to the connection problem. If the main screen renders too slowly the connection keeps timing out. That regularly annoys me when I have debug traces on.

Whats most likely happening is that you don't have 3D driver for linux installed.

and how would I go about getting these drivers?

That depends on which Linux distribution you are using and which graphics card you have.
I'd try to consult the Forums/Wiki/Support Sites of you distribution for help on this topic.
Do other apps that use 3D acceleration like Steam and Counterstrike work in CrossOver ? Or any native Linux app using 3D ?
I am sorry I can't be of more help, but my Linux experience is limited.

If you're using Ubuntu (and some other distros are supported), check out this link, it automates driver installation for you:
