Map Functions

I was able to get Eve running on my MacBook Pro fairly easily. However, I'm running into some significant issues with the star map functionality.

1) Unable to color stars by anything but Actual Color. Any other setting shows nothing.
2) No lines show at all no matter what.

Is this a setting issue? Or simply a known compatibility issue?

Thanks!

I have a ticket dealing with exactly this issue. This sounds like a regression from crossover 6.0. I am investigating the problem.

There has also been a report about eve failing to start up on nvidia macs(mac pros). When those are fixed I will either provide a patched direct3d build, or even a full 6.1.1 release. I can't promise any ETA though.

Much appreciated Stefan. I've been trying some prefs.ini settings on my Nvidia based Mac but still no go. I've reverted to 6.0 to play EVE atm.

I can confirm the map issue on my MacBook (not a Pro version). No lines and only actual color shows any dots.

I can confirm the issue on MBP.
Fortunatley one can consult free out
of game maps (e.g. http://www.ombeve.co.uk/)
during gameplay, although the star coloring features can be tricky
when looking to avoid crowded or pod killing systems.

looking forward to a fix!

many thanks in advance

Same issue here. Any news about some fix?

(The rest of the game runs perfectly.. GOLD AHEAD!)

Yes, I have a fix for that, I can provide a fixed build of the changed dll(wined3d.dll). Unfortunately I do not have a mac available to me right now, so I can only make a linux build ☹️

EDIT: I've made a mac build somewhen ago, see ticket 125974:

If someone needs a Linux build, drop me a note.

Thanks Stefan! Now I'm 100% sure that I'll buy this wonderful product at the end of my demo period. ;)
You guys are doing a fantastic work.

Hi Stefan,

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue under Linux with version 6.1, but since I am registered as an advocate I was wondering... is the fix already integrated into the nightly development builds? And, by the way, any idea when the next release will be out?

Thanks for your continued efforts :)
