For some reason, inserting a .png image into a report template does not work on Ubuntu. Tested with exactly the same image file on Windows and it inserts the image without a hitch.
Are there any crossover settings that impact image or import handling for an application?

This appears to be an issue with gdiplus.
Open the Wine Configuration dialog.
Add "gdiplus" to the list of libraries
Set to "Disabled"
