I was able to install and run Encore 4.5. The MIDI settings are different than they were on Windows (not too surprising); since I use this to compose music scores but not to produce distributable audio I don't care, but others might. (Instruments are configurable, so I assume a solution exists.)

Note that there is now a newer version available. I haven't tested that one.
