Works Great In WINE?

At the moment, the game is listed as "Known Not To Work"; but it's got a Gold rating in the Wine AppDB -

Is there any chance of having those patches rolled into CX Games?

Hi,

A lot of the time, patches must be accepted into the mainstream wine tree
first, before they end up being part of crossover's wine build. Where that
may not be the case, is when a patch can be incorporated into the crossover
wine tree (that doesn't break anything else/cause any regressions). As an
answer to your specific question though, it might be an idea to send an
email to info@codeweavers.com about such things - that way, as an official
support channel, the devs might get to know/have a look at the patch itself.

Cheers!

It looks like it's not a specific patch, but rather, Wine 1.1.30+ that has the fixes. I suppose that's a 'Wait for the new cxgames' issue.

Yes, in that case, we have to hope COG-9.0 is based on a wine-1.1.3x tree :)

Cheers!

Hopefully that's a pretty good bet -- the crossover 9.0 alpha is reporting as 1.1.34 in winecfg

The mainstream wine-devel release sync with the crossover wine tree
every week or 2 weeks or something like that. When it comes time,
the devs' will decide on a feature set, and the wine release that
COG-9.0 will be based on...it will be interesting to see what the
final settling point will be :)

Hi,
we have now a new version of cxgames, but empire:total war still does not work. Are there any plans to get it running with steam in the near future? The retail version seems to work fine with wine.

Hi,

it does NOT work fine with vanilla wine.

steam version with wine 1.1.38 is rated garbage.
On a separate note, I tried this one myself. Games starts fine, adjust settings and all. However, when I start a battle game crashes with a gnutls lib error.

Hi,

Could you tell me the exact error gnutls is throwing please?

Cheers!
