Attempt 1 - win98 bottle

• installs fine, including changing cd's for the installer and accepting the cd-key.
• I then get a dialog box with "Wrong disc inserted" [Retry|Cancel]
• Hit retry and application crashes.

Any more experienced Advocates out there point me to a way of getting a logfile or a FAQ?

Attempt 2 - win2k bottle

• Got a little bit further installed ok, on running a dialog box with:
  "Please insert an original disc instead of a backup. See www.securom.com/copy for more details." [Ok] comes up.
  (before you ask, yes it is an original disc)

Attempt 3 - winxp bottle

• Same as for win2k bottle.

Attempt 4 - winvista bottle

• same as for win2k bottle

I'll try again later after patching the app to the latest version before playing (using the 1.20 patch)

Attempted again with the v1.20 patch installed.

Exactly the same results. Interestingly when running in win2k mode or above there was quite a bit of cd-rom activity before coming up with the "please insert original disc" message.

It seems that there is some significant process managing SecuROM copy protection.

Unfortunately - rates a 'known not to work' as the main app won't run.
