Done that you've said but I bought the game on gamersgate but don't understand how to get the files onto the mac so that i can put them in the wrapper to install! There is no option to download the game from the website because it knows I am not on a PC. There simply is not a download button to click :/

Are you sure that the game is downloadable from Gamersgate and they don't just provide you with a Steam key?
I have that with another game. The game appears in the list "My Games" but when I click on it, there is no download link anywhere on the page but a Steam key (quite small and unobtrusive just below the game picture) in the right hand column.

If it isn't that (just checked and saw it is not a Steam game) do the following:

1. Click on "My Games"
2. On top of the list in the middle column, check the radio button "All" (for all types of systems)

It should appear now
