Also I watched Kathryn of Sky's demo walkthrough videos (first episode here: https://youtu.be/fScIOw07QRw) of the game on YouTube, so I knew what to look for. The intro/prologue flyby and landing should be high resolution, finely rendered ship flyby of a star, through a solar system, and landing on a well-rendered planet. My rendering was of that, but with super high specular blur, even while on-screen (tutorial) overlays were sharp and crisp with crisp graphics and typography. Also sound was grandiose, and vocal tutorial overlay was high quality.
After landing, the rendering of the planet was incomplete, blurry, with grey water and dark blue land (I think - it's a guess). The grey actually disappeared as I browsed through hud elements and popup windows.
Some popup windows, like the tech tree, rendered fine and I could see and even research techs and the results were the same as shown in the Kathryn of Sky walkthrough. Others, like Inventory, and the build/replicator popup windows had the correct looking chrome, but the internal panel that you normally hover over and click different elements within was a rainbow gradient with no real discernable graphics elements within.
Not playable since you need to see resources on the fully rendered planet to interact with and you need to be able to see the build/replicator and inventory windows to be able to progress in the game.
But it's SO CLOSE, I wonder if the developers might be able to compile a Mac version, if Codeweavers can't get to it.
