Seems to work at its core, but several issues.

First, the good news: The game runs in fullscreen. I have successfully played and completed a level.

Now, the not so good news:

No audio anywhere.

Fullscreen mode doesn't properly grab the entire screen, you can still see the menubar. In fullscreen only a small portion of the screen renders properly, the rest appears to be whatever is loaded onto the video card before (windows, pictures, other games). The game launches as a window and then switches to fullscreen. It looks like to me it is trying to render to the original window area and everything outside of it is messed up.

(I've edited out parts of the screenshot)

Windowed mode doesn't have the same issue as fullscreen, the entire screen is rendered correctly in windowed mode. Unfortunately in windowed mode the game will crash within seconds of launch.

Hi....

...with an email address/username like yours, you must be a person 'of
my own heart' so to speak =) And myself being one from the times of the
Amiga computer, I know I'd enjoy this title (just bought it on Steam,
for a $1 off ;).... so I'll have a look at what it's doing...

..in the interim, could you provide some more details about your setup?
..ie; OS/version, video card/chipset (although that looks like something
my Ati fitted iMac would do), and of course which version of crossover?

...I'll post an update back here later...

Cheers!

Update:

...on the Mac, you likely need to install the following into the
same (Steam) bottle to get sound;

http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=8402

...on linux, sound should work 'as is' ; if it doesn't, try the above..

...as for the screen handling issues, I recreated a similar scenario
here (on my linux rig actually), which makes it appear as though it's
some sort of bug...either in winecore or as part of the game's design.
I'll have to investigate that further, but, for now it seems this game
will only work properly, if you use the builtin windowed mode video
option, where it works at silver medal ranking or better...

Cheers!

Duh, how could I forget system information:
Mid 2010 MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.7.2 and using Crossover Games (mac) 10.3.0. GPU is a NVIDIA Geforce GT 330M 512MB. CPU is 2.66 GHz Intel Core I7. 8GB of 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM. Display resolution is 1680x1050. Dustforce (along with Steam) is installed in a Windows XP bottle.

With OpenAL installed sound now works (as advertised!) which now reveals that the game doesn't actually crash for me when launched into windowed mode, it just stops rendering. After a few seconds when launching in windowed mode the video freezes but audio keeps going, I hear the character moving around as expected when I try to control it. After poking at windows it looks like the window isn't being drawn to anymore, if I click on a crossover menu in the menubar that draws on top of the Dustforce window that portion of the Dustforce window turns black.

As for the game: Fun, but my hands and gamepad will hate me.
