I'm having problems with DDO and Pylotro

I have been trying to get DDO to work with Pylotro its fully updated directx, DDO, and pylotro all are in one bottle. DDO is updated, once i start the game it goes to a black screen that is full screen, then to a smaller black screen then gives me a program error says the program has some serious problem and needs to close then get a crash report in an output box this is it:

Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x05f40538 in 32-bit code (0x46a41e02).

Hi,

Was that using the builtin msacm32.dll ? If so, I had a problem/fight
with that same dll last week -- solution was to grab a native msacm32.dll
and copy it into bottlename/drive_c/windows/system32 and then use wine
configurator to set a library ovverride for msacm32.dll=native and that
sorted the issue I had....might be worth a try?

Cheers!

Alright I'm reinstalling right now will try that first and if that doesn't work I'll try that, I'll let you know what happens.

Okay new problem I get to the Loading...Please wait... and then the client closes down by itself any idea, is it possible the preferences need to be adjusts because I had to manually set the screen to windowed mode.

Where can i get a native msacm32.dll?

Hi,

Oh...this is fun....the 'legally correct and legitimate' way to obtain a
known good version of msacm32.dll is to grab the following hotfix;

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925752

That will require you to request that file, M$ will send you back a link
via email that lets you download a password encoded self extracting zip
exe file (the password will be in the email), then you run that download
with the run command option, enter the unpacker password, and then it will
unpack the actual hotfix exe file where to tell it to...this will give you
the file 'WindowsServer2003-KB925752-x86-ENU.exe'....now, create a new bottle,
Windows 2003 profile, and install this hotfix into that bottle -- then you
will have a 'good' copy of msacm32.dll in that bottle's //drive_c/windows/system32
directory which you can copy into your DDO bottle and set the library override...

...I know, a right muck around....I was going to do a component c4p up for
msacm32.dll when I found the hotfix, but when I discovered the only way to get
that was to go through the above M$ email request system, that idea got dashed...

Of course, if you have a legitimate windowsXP (or newer) installation, that
dll can be found in the /windows/system32 directory and you can use that...

And finally...google is your friend, however I keep away from that sourcing if
I can because you don't know the integrity of the dll file being downloaded...ie;
it may have a trojan/malware in it which, while it won't run/cause any problems
in/with crossover, may give unexpected/inconsistent results when being used in
conjunction with your win32 app...

Cheers!

Well i got the files and all that but now it says ddoclient.exe has had serious problem it must shut down before it was just closing and saying finished when i got to loading screen but now it's giving me a non responding message.

Hi again,

Out of the frying pan and into the fire ; I spotted the msacm32
error and so perhaps now that is fixed and there's some other issue
at hand -- unfortunately I don't own this title, so I can't check
the problem any further -- you could obtain another debuglog, but
don't paste those here ; instead, gzip the debuglog and upload it
to rapidshare or the like, and post the download link back here...see;

http://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/SubmitTechSupportLog

Then again, perhaps others who actually have this title can help you
further, but to help them you should tell us which version of crossover
you are using, and the platform/OS{version}/videocard being used (I
can see you're using Mac, but the other details can be important)

Cheers!

You have reached the point where the WINE "page fault" occurs.
(This happens with DDO 5 and DDO 6 that I know of.)

This has been bugged to Codeweavers, who I believe, have bugged it to WINE.

At the moment, there is no fix other than (possibly) reverting to 8.14 and using that.
The error also did occur with 9.0 as I recall.
(I have not tried reverting with DDO 5 or DDO 6 as I spend most of my time with LOTRO these days.)

Well i tried 8.14 and that didn't work did same thing as 9.1 is doing as for DDO5 or 6 i tried DDO Stormreach download and it wouldn't patch it via PyLotRo....So I guess I will just have to wait for next update or something.
