Hi,

I had a working installation of DDO under CXGames 10.x

After updating to CX 11.1 the game does not have any sound. Any idea what might be wrong?

In the Frequently and Infrequently asked questions post in the Tips and Tricks section it identifies that the sound will fail of DDO is in an WinXP bottle.

I also have no sound when run in and XP bottle and I get an install failure when I try install in either Vista or 2000.

See if the tip:: "Client crashing just before character selection screen"

works for your audio issue. "openal32" is an audio module.

I removed the bottle and tried again.

I did not use the crosstie but selected Dungeons and Dragons Online from the community supported applications list. I downloaded the full ddostandard install files on my windows machine and copied them over to the MacBook and selected the install directory.

The install ran a little slower than my earlier installs but - no errors and when I started the game I had the game and sound working as expected.

I had to manually add the files to correct the grey grid screen but otherwise I see no issue with playing the game at all.

After playing for the better part of three days I am upgrading my ranking from Silver to Gold.

Switching the DLL didnt help. However installing a more recent version of Direct X did. Regards
