[21.1] Intel Mac, working well except character model glitches

Hi, I've got Neverwinter working on my Intel Mac with macOS 12.0.1.
Here are the steps I did to get my results:

  • Download the game via Steam
  • Go to Wine Configuration --> Applications --> Windows Version: --> Windows 10
  • Go to Bottle --> Settings --> Check DXVK Backend for D3D11

It is working quite well, except for your character model.
Your character is glitching and does not have the correct texture.
If you disable DXVK, your character model loads correctly, but the map and environment textures are broken.
Also, the game warns you that your video card won't be supported further than Feb 2022.

Changing to MoltenVK 1.1.6 (macos_dxvk_patched-1.1.6_2) and DxVk 1.9.2 fixed the character glitches and improved performance.
Now I can crank all the sliders in graphic settings up to max.

But did these changes resolve the Unsupported DirectX Version warning? It would be helpful for it to continue working beyond Feb 15th, 2022.

Thanks!

I don't know for sure if it will work after Feb 2022. But there are newer games out there; I guess they have higher minimum specifications regarding DirectX, and people can play those with Crossover. The engine Neverwinter is running on is quite old and probably not as demanding as these new games. That's why I think we will be fine and still be able to play the game.
