Hi,

I have the following problem, I hope someone can help.

I keep getting this whenever I try to run DD2.

I tried windows 7, 10. 64 and 32 bit. Mac Catalina and Mojave.

I followed this advice (without Nvidia PhysX):

And I found similar problems all over the web without a solution, this post describes almost the exact problem:

The simplest steps to recreate the same problem is to run this:
https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/steam
then install the free game: DD2.

Side note: to might need to enable low bandwidth/performance mode from the steam settings -> library and then switch to small mode from View -> small mode to be able to browse the store.

System information:
Codeweaver version: 19
Mac OS: 10.14.6
Graphics cards:
Radeon Pro 555X 4 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
glxinfo | grep "OpenGL version":
OpenGL version string: 2.1 ATI-2.11.20

Since you're using Mac, I can't help about some graphics drivers issue, but are you sure graphics drivers are OK?

The Tips & tricks session (https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/tips/dungeon-defenders-2/how-to-install) says to install via Steam. Were you able to install and run Steam?

Are you sure graphics drivers are OK? My OS is up to date, in Mac world, that is how to update the graphics driver. Because my OS is up to date, I think my graphics drivers are up to date.

Were you able to install and run Steam? Yes, steam runs perfectly. I am able to view the store, library, download games, etc.

I have installed the game through Steam.

Do you think the problem is still in these two areas?

OpenGL is one of the "ways" a software can use the 3D capabilities. Some programs use DirectX in Windows. I have no idea what Mac uses, I suggest that you search for ways to check if you have OpenGL installed.

A basic test could be if you install any Mac software that uses 3D graphics, like any free 3D game.

I think that is the core of the issue.

Mac is deprecating OpenGL. I had to install Xquartz, following this guide.

Then I was able to run this command on my Mac glxinfo | grep "OpenGL version"
This is the response:
OpenGL version string: 2.1 ATI-2.11.20

This made me think that I had OpenGL installed and running correctly. Do you think this is enough of a test?

Edit: Boot Camp works. I do not need to fiddle around with Mac stuff for now.
