dreamweaver MX 6.1 demo download
Anonymous

Hya !

As you probably know, Dreamweaver MX 2004 (7.02) actually didnt work with CrossOver... it took me a lot of time to find the older demo version of Dreamweaver online so ... I post here where I found the demo of the original MX (6.1) for Windows.

http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/24910.asp

you will be able to find:

Macromedia Dreamweaver MX v6.1 - Deutsch (60.13 MB)
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX v6.1 - English (49.48 MB)
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX v6.1 - Français (57.79 MB)

for myself i tried to install the French version demo and INSTALL prompt that Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) was needed. So I cancelled the installation process (by using XKill (beginners: you also can use in command line: ps -ax and kill -9 #ofprocess) because for myself CrossOver always freeze when an installation process is cancelled) and installed Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8, here's the link to download:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6c050fe3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&displaylang=en

When i tried to install the MDAC file using "unsupported..." I saw that this program also needed Internet Explorer ...

So finally there's my magic receipe:

1- download the demo
2- Install the demo using the Dreamweaver MX install template in CrossOver by selecting where's the file in advance mode... (timefull operation either on a athlon xp 1800+ with 256ddr)
3- Click OK and continue installation when install prompt about DMAC.
4- Install will complete after few minutes ... then click Yes yes sure sure on Install complete Crossover's menu...
5- Run winmx without DMAC and have fun...

In the hope that this will help someone,

Thanks a lot for the downloadlink!

Installation was very easy, just click 'continue' wherever you're asked for 😉
No need to install any other software.

Bye,

and another hint: in the FAQ pages you get the tip to install the DMAC by downloading MSIE6.0 and then the DMCA installer file, which links to the MS download center with their Windows Genuine Advantage blabla, that asks you to Validate you Windows (d'ohhh...) but a small googeling on the dl site brings, that the direct accessed install file can be downloaded without vaidation. so here is the link:
