I am still unable to install DW8 using CX 6.2.0 under Ubuntu 7.04 as the installer fails to start with :
"z:\opt\cxoffice\lib\wine\autorun.exe.so:error: an error occurred while starting 'D:\setup.exe' (err=2)"
I am also unable to do the "copy an existing installation" method as I no longer have a windows installation, nor a windows anything I'm happy to say.
The error code 2 simply means "file not found". Apparently, our autorun program is failing to understand the autorun.inf file on the CD and is guessing incorrectly about what command to run.
You might try telling the CrossOver Setup program to run a specific executable, rather than just pointing it to the CD. Mind you, I have no idea if DW8 will work even if you get it to install. This is just a suggestion about getting over this first hurdle.
