Crashing in 5.0.1

Hi,

I read all previous messages. I'm running CO 5.0.1, installed my legit DW8 on my xp partition, cracked it with FFF as suggested. Copied accross to a win2000 bottle.

DW8 starts , it even asks me what type of layout I want to use (first run), then starts to load. When it gets to "Initializing Files" it crashes :(

This is the only application left that still forces me to boot under XP . I needed it so much that I tried everything for 2 days . Different bottles, different cracks , even downloaded a couple of different builds of DW8. Copied my entire XP system32 in the bottle system and the list goes on and on.

It all ends up with the same result , same crash , same place.

Anyone else had this problem ?

Thanks

Miky

I have it running but I copied it over then ran the crack.

I created a menu item to run it with the following command:
/opt/cxoffice/bin/wine --bottle "win98" "/home/bruce/.cxoffice/win98/drive_c/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/Dreamweaver.exe"

Works like a charm but it comes up as a noncomercial license.

Lucky you !! hehe

I tried 'everything' but i'll try everything again just to make sure.
I did what you suggested, installed under XP , copied accross in a win98 bottle , then applied the crack . Same result , it does not display the "not installed correcly" message , and starts loading , show the non commercial licence box , loads a few things and dies on "initializing files". Since i tried with 2 different patches, and 2 different builds , I think it might just have to do with the Crossover/Linux versions that i'm using. I'm using Crossover pro 5.0.1 In Xandros 3 (Debian). Maybe some slight differences with what you are running.

I did get a few others applications to work fine though.

I'll keep trying some things

Miky
