I am a legitimate owner of DW8 and have a copy running under VMWare. Copied Dreamweaver folder and the Common Files from the Program Files directory. I even tried importing the registry keys. I made it to the point of choosing between code and designer layouts, then it said there was an installation problem, to reinstall.
Well, I finally managed to track down the crack for the demo version. I ran this from within wine with "wine Crack.exe", located the Dreamweaver.exe file, patched it, and now run DW8 without problems! Don't waste your time trying other methods... Macromedia's copy protection scheme is apparently getting in the way. I've shown have you can patch a legitimate installation of DW8 which should be good enough for the anal retentive types.
P.S. Of course, if it weren't for the early post, I'd have never thought to try a crack. Big thanks!
I downloaded a crack for the DW8 trial, but when I run it I get a message indicating that the FFF.info file has to be in the same directory - even though it is. Any hints? I'm running a legit DW8 (I purchased the full studio 8 upgrade package).
try useing the --workdir agument
ect. wine --workdir /folder/ /folder/programfile.exe
Ok, I copied everything over, cracked my legit version, and can start the executable, but now I'm getting the following error a bunch of times:
While executing GetServerInfo, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
......ReferenceError: MM is not defined.
Any suggestions? I copied the "/Program Files/Dreamweaver 8" directory as well as the "/Program Files/Common Files/Macromedia*" directories. to my wine virtual drive and modified my 'Dreamweaver MX' launcher to run DW8... I'm not sure what else I would need to do.
Thank you so much for this info
Is there a way to add a custom application launcher for this??? That way I don't need to go into the run window command everytime??
