Dragon Age: Origins Forum

Hey

I purchased the Dragon Age all DLC/expansion packs/everything else Ultimate edition through

This is a 12GB split into 5-6 pieces download for 25 English Pounds.

I was really curious as to how this would work with Crossover Games 9.2 running the newest update to OSX 10.6.5.

I have a detailed report, but it is probably a good idea to keep it as short as possible for now.

First thing I noticed were tabs that did not go up or down on mouseover. They were very skinny and should have shown button info. Tooltips came up so that I was not totally blind to what I was clicking.

Game installed, bottle was created successfully, Crossover went into In process mode which never quit. So I had to cancel and since the game did not show up under programs I went for the run command and found the DAOrigionsLauncher.exe and ran it. The initial game screen came up and I pressed play and the error message the file named AWC.dll says "The game cannot launch because of a misconfiguration. Please reinstall your game and try again."
I have installed it again and the same message came up.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can test out next?
It would be great to get this running since it is the last installment of Dragon Age and it includes every DLC and extras.

Dragon Age II is planed to be released in March next year.

I just bought this on steam too. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but I'll let you know what I find.

I downloaded Crossover Games version 10.0 beta and the C4p file for Dragon Age.

Installed the C4p file and began to install Dragon Age Ultimate Edition.
The error message I am getting now is:

Error
The xml configuration seems to be corrupt.

Hi guys I'm considering buying dragon age ultimate edition on steam but I was wondering if everything I will pay for will work I have a Mac OSX desktop with snow leopard please get back to me soon

Well, considering that DA:O is working with some settings, and DA2Demo is working with different settings, and DA:O Awakening doesn't seem to work at all, I think the Ultimate Edition will be different enough that it might need its own little tweaks to get it to run. 😥

It should probably have its own C4 entry.

I bought DA:O Deluxe Edition ages ago but never got the DLC working--the in-game DLC menu always showed up empty, and EA support wasn't especially helpful. I've just looked at this other thread which suggests using the DAO Modmanager so I'm about to give that a go, although it seems the DLC servers are down at this time so maybe I'll have to wait longer still to see if it actually works.

Back when the servers were working, I was able to authorize the DLC by stopping and starting the DAUpdaterSVC service.

The best I was able to set up was a desktop launcher that ran both commands one after the other.

So, for a few days, I was able to double-click my DragonAge icon, then double-click my custom launcher, and the DLC would get authorized.
