PhysX Engine Install Error

I can install the game, but the installation of the PhysX Engine crashes with an undefined Error.

The game runs, but without any videos and without any PhysX rendered grafics.
So for every face and head I can only see the eyeballs and the hair.

This occurs in the player setup and all ingame grafics. The rendered surround grafics are poor too.

I have an iMac with Mac OS X 10.6.2 and COG 8.1,4 running.

Do anyone has similar problems?

are you getting this error when installing it directly from the file or by the games installer
beacuse i had to install it by hand
in my case(linux) the installer is at
.cxgames/Steam/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/dragon age origins/redist

I am getting the same error, and I am installing it with the DVD.

At the end of the install is says:" Execute: "D:/software/PhysX_9.09.0408_SystemSofware.exe" /q

The error dialog box:

The text says:
"The program Installer.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

"If this problem is not present under Windows and has not been reported yet, you can report it at http://bugs.winehq.org."

I am running Crossover Games version 8.1.4 on a Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 with 4 Gb of ram. A month ago or so I tried running Dragon Age with I believe Crossover Games version 8.0 and it worked with the 2d but not with 3d. Perhaps I should try version 8.0 again and use minimum settings.

-- Which version of Crossover Games plays best with Dragon Age? --

** EDIT: The game starts and runs nice and smooth on my Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard, 4 gigs ram, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, even though PhysX did not install. I just can not have the Graphics Detail higher then the low setting.

Have a great day!
