Failed to authenticate disk

I just got the retail copy, decided to try in Linux w/ CXGames 8.1.0 on Ubuntu 9.10
Install seemed to go well, it crashed when it got to the PhysX installer (I haven't tried running this manually).
Installed DX via the Configuration > Manage Bottles > Install Software.

When I launch the game & get to the preloader and click on play, I get a failed to authenticate disk message.

The Digital Rights Management (DRM) software in this program
prevents it from running in CrossOver. If you are in a legal jurisdiction
which allows removal of such software, you may have luck running this
program. Unfortunately, CodeWeavers, because they are subject to the
Digital Millennium Copyright Act, will be unable to support you.

I'll post more after I'm done playing around with the settings, but I got the game to launch in 640x480 full screen mode which seems to be the default.

Apologies for the edit!

This issue of the game being not able authenticate disk prevent me to play the game. Any suggestion to solve this problem ?

P.S. I do not want to patch the executable with something illegal or that comes from an untrusted source.

Unfortunately I've not found any other way to get the game running other than a no-cd patch. Depending on your location a no-cd may not be illegal however I do understand your concerns.

Update: I tried activating my retail copy of DAO on STEAM as that would not require the CD however STEAM did not recognize the code so unfortunately that's not an option either.
